Signs of the Times Magazine
Signs of the Times is about "Living for Tomorrow." As a lifestyle magazine with a Christian focus, we exist to show our readers the potential of a life filled with joy and hope because of God. We do not set out to convert, but to provide readers with a valid alternative to life living as a Christian, and to develop a better understanding of God, through deeper biblical knowledge.
We want our readers to be optimistic about the future, even when signs around the world may point to destruction and despair. We do this by providing information that is relevant for living in today's world, and including God's promises in the Bible of what, we believe, is to come.
The first issue of Signs of the Times was published in Melbourne in November 2, 1885. It was then known as the Bible Echo and Signs of the Times. It was—and still is—devoted to the “promulgation of moral and social reforms, from a purely Bible standpoint.”
Signs of the Times is published by the HopeChannel, a not-for-profit broadcaster operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is a monthly (11 issues a year) subscription magazine, with a circulation of some 25,000, distributed in Australia and New Zealand, the Pacific islands, and as far afield as Africa, Asia and Europe.
Although a denominational publication, it is a magazine designed for the general public, containing a mix of easy-to-read articles promoting positive relationships and family values, a healthful lifestyle and Bible-based Christian belief.
As its name suggests, it also attempts to attune people to the serious times in which we live, in the belief that the Second Coming of Christ is near, and that people should prepare for that.
We are not-for-profit and only exist thanks to the generous donations of our subscribers.
